Alabama Hills
The
short drive to DeLaCour Ranch from Lone Pine travels
through The Alabama Hills. The Alabamas cover more
than ten square miles with magnificently unusual rock
formations. With The Sierra crest in the background,
the Alabamas offer endless photogenic vistas, miles
of flat trails weaving through the rocks, and bouldering
and climbing fun for all ages. It's a kids' paradise!
And, since the days of silent films, Hollywood has
used the Alabamas for hundreds of old westerns, dramas,
chases, and modern sci-fi's like Tremors, Star Trek
and Ironman. Be sure to stop by the Film Museum in
Lone Pine. |
